Introduction
Prayer is opening the heart and mind to God. Prayer is not just a detail but
the heart and soul of all we do. "Come Holy Spirit" Jesus said
the Holy Spirit is the necessary source for every thought and word, from
the beginning of the church at Pentecost until today.
Prayer Group
Those interested in gathering regularly for prayer and reading the scriptures.
Although each Mass and liturgical service is prayer, this group meets

Pax Christi
An international group of citizens working for peace in the name of Christ,
this group has a long history in the parish. Fenna Lee Bonsignore organizes

Adoration on Thursdays
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament of Jesus Christ, usually from 8:00
AM until 6:00 PM every Thursday in the Church. Adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament is a silent devotion of prayer and meditation. Please sign-up

Rosary
The rosary is a meditation on the life of Christ as seen through the
eyes of Mary, the Mother of God in fifteen mysteries of the rosary.
Recited every day before 8:00 a.m. Mass and recited regularly at the

Play Guitar or
other musical instruments
Join the choir and music director to enhance the liturgies as a musician.
Music lifts the heart and mind to God with the help of this ministry.

Choir
Enhancing our worship with music in the Senior Choir or the Children's
Choir. Singing during funerals (St. Martha's Choir) or singing in the

Children's Choir
Children under twelve singing on a regular basis at Mass. Each grade
plans a Sunday liturgy during the religious education year. Contact

Lectors

Eucharistic Ministers
Ministering Communion to the People of God within the gathering Liturgical
Assembly and Visiting the Sick at Home or at Amherst Nursing Home. Please

Visiting the Sick
Pastoral visits to the sick and elderly in the community, bringing a
bulletin, making a visit, sharing your life with them Contact Margaret

Altar Servers
Representing the people and helping the priest celebrate the liturgy

Sacristy and Altar
Care/Altar Guild
Preparing the Sanctuary and altar linens for a reverent celebration
of the Eucharistic. Caring for the vestments, the altar linen, the lights
and candles around the altar and in the sacristy. Contact Martha Tidlund

Ministers of Hospitality
Coming to the Mass early to greet parishioners and guests. To create an atmosphere
of hospitality, to hand out a bulletin and wish them a great day. Contact

Ushers
Willing to take up the collection and to assist the people in finding a seat

Decorations
Decorating the church and rectory throughout the liturgical year For

Spiritual Life Committee
Parishioners willing to meet each month to enhance the spiritual life

Evangelization/Outreach
Committee
To reach out to every member of the community especially the unchurch,
those not going to church or members coming back to the church. For

an enthusiasm for their faith. And a willingness to share their faith

background, to hear the message of Christ and to come and join us. To
