The meeting commenced at 7:05PM.

Attendees:

Fr. Reilly started with a prayer.

Anne Heston gave her Principal's Report:

• A new School Board member, Mary Patryn, was introduced.
• There were 2 parent meetings that centered around a tuition increase.
• The Marketing meeting held on 12/15/03 was for the sole purpose of raising monies. Sue Boniface will be leading another meeting.
• Sr. Bette Gould spoke to the Parish Council about being supportive of the school. She also made known an anonymous donor who gave $5,000.00 with the stipulation that parents raise $5,000.00 as well.
• The Secret Santa is going to happen this week.
• The Christmas concert will be held next Tuesday, 12/23/03.
• The car raffle will be extended into Catholic Schools week which is January 25, 2004. The minimum number of tickets that need to be sold is 300. She would prefer 400 - 500 tickets sold.

In light of the latest Parish/School deficit of $155,000, Joe Monahan addressed Fr. Reilly with a request to decrease the tuition increase from $500.00 to $300.00. The rationale is that the deficit is now much smaller than previously thought and as a result the tuition increase would not have to be as substantial. The size of the increase may "scare" too many people away. A discussion about financial assistance from the diocese ensued. There may be monies available in the form of a "grant". Fr. Reilly will consider this request. Anne requested we (School Board) come up with an increase for next years tuition by the next meeting.

Fr. Reilly talked about a wish list to sponsor students. He envisioned this to be blind contributions from anyone, e.g., Parishoners, which would be used to help defray the cost of tuition for a student or multiple students. He will have a discussion with Chet Clark (Diocesan Financial Officer) about a financial assistance program.

The next meeting will be on a Wednesday - January 21, at 7 PM.
