- The car raffle drawing was held on January 27. St. Mary
School won. The ticket was donated by a St Mary students'
family. The school received approximately $18,000 (5%
taxes were due on the winnings).
- The Open House held on Sunday January 25. It was
successful. There were between 100 and 150 people taking
the tour. Next year the Open House will be held on a
Sunday afternoon. This may increase attendance.
- Open enrollment for Pre-K and Kindergarten is full (and
was expected).
- A Mad Science program started February 4 and continues
until March 31. This program is after school, on
Wednesdays, and is paid for by parents who wish to send
their children. The program teaches kids science at
appropriate grade levels.
Parent Association - Chris Sarkis
- Chris distributed an overview of the Parent Association
efforts.
- The majority of monies come from the magazine drive.
- TVs with VCRs will be purchased for each classroom with
Parent Association raised funds.
Joe Monahan
- Tuition will be set at $2800.00 for the year 2004 - 2005.
With fundraising efforts assisting to reduce the deficit.
- The Parish has a $153,000 deficit from School expenses.
- Three (3) or more students per family may have a tuition
reduction for the 3rd and greater children.
- There was discussion of Marketing at Parishes that do not
have schools. A "marketing representative" will
be assigned from these parishes to go to the parishes to
invite parents to send their children to St Mary.
There were many ideas for recruiting students through
Realtors, other parishes without schools by making literature
available at those places.
The before school program has approximately 15 students in it
at any time. The after school program has about 30 students in
it. Both of the times has raised additional funding for the
school.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday March 24, at 7
PM.
Fr. Reilly ended the meeting with a prayer.
The meeting adjourned at 8:35 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Kevin J. Hassett
