Principal Report:
- Anne Heston received assistance from Joanne Denver with
Budgeting Guidelines. This can be used to create the
budget for the next school year.
- The textbook bill for next year will be much lower than
the current year. The only new books that will be needed
are the 7th and 8th grade Math
series. The remainder of the books are the consumable
type and are available.
- The Knights of Columbus will work to replace the ceiling
tiles that are damaged. They will need to have the school
provide the tiles but they will supply the installation
labor.
- Registration is going well. 203 students have registered
to date. This is up from 190 a month ago. More are
expected. There are 210 students in the 2003/2004 school
year.
- There is a Candidacy visit planned for 22 September 2004.
This will be a representative from the New England
Association of High School and Colleges. The purpose is
to start the 2-year process for accreditation. The total
cost of this is approximately $5,000.
- Fences are up on the ballfield. The local Unico Chapter
donated the $1900. To pay for these fences.
- Richard Forgue, a parishoner, will donate his time toward
Marketing/Long Range planning for next school year.
- There will be 16, 8th grade students
graduating this year. There are 27, 7th grade
students moving into 8th grade.
- Two (2) people came to open House on May 6. This was not
the turn out that was hoped for.
- There is one quote for the copier services. The proposal
will save the school approximately $3,000 from its'
current plan.
The Development Drive will be held next school year. Gene
Cassidy volunteered to use the Big E available resources to stuff
the development drive envelopes.
Mary Lou Walthouse volunteered for the steering committee for
Accreditation.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at 7:00
PM
All meetings are planned for the 1st Wednesday of
each month for the next school year.
Ed Paprocki obtained 18 computers and software (from
Microsoft) for free and has upgraded these computers. These are
planned for use in the computer lab. The computers in the lab can
then be distributed to the classrooms.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
