St. Michael the Archangel Chapel Mausoleum
St. Michael Cemetery, Springfield, MA

In response to the growing demand for above-ground burial space and a desire to provide for chapel services, the Diocese of Springfield is pleased to announce that a marketing campaign has been approved to start in late January for sale of crypts in a mausoleum to be built once 65% of the crypts are sold at St. Michael cemetery. Named in honor of St. Michael the Archangel, this beautiful new facility has been designed not only to be an enduring monument to those who have passed, but also to be a peaceful and serene sanctuary for the grieving.

Centrally located within the cemetery, the new mausoleum will be approached via a winding drive through a sheltered entrance portico. The unique traditional design of the building will feature poured in place concrete construction with a split-face granite facade. A central chapel adorned by stained glass windows, Carrara marble walls, murals, a wooden cathedral ceiling and skylights that will provide a beautiful, sheltered environment for committal services and visitation. The chapel will provide a peaceful and serene atmosphere where visitors will be encouraged to linger in private prayer and meditation.

St. Michael the Archangel Chapel Mausoleum will provide limited numbers of entombment crypts in both interior chapel and exterior locations. Cremation niches will also be provided for the inurnment of cremains.
