RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN
Classes are held in the home and are usually one-on-one. Most of the teachers are deaf and present the classes in Sign language. Hearing teachers are also available.

ADULT EDUCATION
Classes are held on Wednesday evenings, approximately twice a month, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. They take place at the K of C #4044 (Castle of the Knights – Unit #4) on Memorial Drive in Chicopee. All classes include a coffee break and time for socializing.

A morning class (10:00 a.m. to noon) is available on two Thursdays each month.

Classes for deaf adults are taught by both hearing and deaf teachers. The classes are signed. There may be deaf persons, hard-of-hearing persons, or late-deafened adults in the class. The groups are small (usually 5-12 people). Topics vary each year, depending on the background of the individuals in the class. Some examples of topics are: The Bible, Old Testament, New Testament, Gospels, Parables, Women in the Gospels, Acts of the Apostles, the Mass, Creation Spirituality.

Some classes are offered specifically for hearing adults who have a connection to Deaf Ministry (spouses of a deaf person, interpreters, volunteers, persons studying ASL). Like the classes for deaf adults, these classes are small and the topic depends on the background and interest of the persons in the class.

For more specific information or to register for classes, call (413-592-4071 V/TTY) the office for Ministry With the Deaf.
