GUEST PRESENTER BIOS

Fr. Benedict Groeschel, C.F.R.
Loved around the world for his bold and powerful witness to the Gospel. He has worked tirelessly with the poor and needy, spoken to tens of thousands of Catholics, and written numerous articles and books. In May 1987 he founded the community of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, preaching reform within the Church and caring for the homeless in the South Bronx and Harlem sections of New York City. He is Director for the Office for Spiritual Development for the Archdiocese of New York.

 

Deacon James Keating
is Director of Theological Formation in the Institute for Priestly Formation at Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska. In 1993 Dr. James Keating was appointed by the Papal Nuncio to be Associate Professor of Moral and Spiritual Theology in the School of Theology at the Pontifical College Josephinum, Columbus, Ohio where he served until 2006. Dr. Keating has done more than 350 workshops on moral theology and parish life nationally. He regularly conducts retreats and parish missions. He is the co-author and author of 7 books which includes Listening for Truth: A Life of Prayer and Virtue (Liguori Press, 2002).

 

 

Gerry Faust
Gerry was born in Dayton, Ohio. He had much success in coaching high school football. In 18 years at Archbishop Moller H.S. he had a record of 174-17-2, including 5 state titles and 4 mythical national titles. He coached 22 high school All-Americans and 39 all-Ohio players. 265 of his players went to play at the college level and 38 players on the NFL roster. Gerry became the 24th head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 1980 for five seasons with a record of 30-26-1 and two Bowl appearances. Gerry became the coach of University of Akron and moved the football
program from 1-AA to Div. 1-A Independent status, the first school to accomplish this.

 

 

Thomas Seaman
Thomas Seaman was born in 1930 and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1953 having played football for Coach Frank Leahy as the first team offensive left guard, winning 4 national championships. He founded the Seaman Retirement Planning LTD in 1957. Tom is a pilot and he was awarded the 2006 American Red Cross Hero Award because he graciously flies patients and human organs for transplant wherever they need to for medical treatment.
