The Rev. Dr. Karl Donfried
The Rev. Dr. Karl Donfried, an ordained Lutheran pastor, received his B.A. degree from Columbia College, his M.Div. degree from Harvard Divinity School, his S.T.M. from Union Theological Seminary in New York and his Doctor of Theology from the University of Heidelberg. He was first appointed to the faculty of Smith College in 1968 and served as the Elizabeth A. Woodson Pro­fessor of Religion and Biblical Literature until 2005; in addition he has served as the McCarthy Professor of New Testament at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome as well as visiting professor of New Testament at Yale, Brown, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Professor Donfried, an internationally recognized New Testament scholar, has written widely for journals and has authored several books including Who Owns the Bible? Toward the Recovery of a Christian Hermeneutic and Paul, Thessalonica And Early Christianity.  He has also served as co-chair with Father Raymond E. Brown of the New Testament Panel of the Lutheran-Roman Catholic Dialogue that produced Peter in the New Testament and Mary in the New Testament.

     
   

 

  Rev. Dr. Thomas Stegman
Rev. Dr. Thomas Stegman is currently an Associate Professor of New Testament at Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Cambridge, MA.  His teaching interests include the interpretation of the writings of the New Testament (particularly the Pauline writings); the relationship of biblical texts to liturgy and preaching; and the inter¬play between Scripture and other areas of theological inquiry. His research focuses on narrative elements in Paul’s writings; the use of rhetoric by biblical authors; and liturgy as interpretative context. He is the author of: The Character of Jesus: The Linchpin to Paul's Argument in 2 Corinthians.
   
   
  Rev. Dr. Paul F.M. Zahl
The Rev. Dr. Paul F.M. Zahl is the Rector of All Saints Episcopal Church in Chevy Chase, Maryland.  He is a graduate of Harvard University and received his Doctor¬ate in Systematic Theology from the University of Tübingen in Germany.  He has served as the Rector of Episcopal churches in Scarborough, New York, and Charleston, South Carolina, and as the Dean of the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham, Alabama.  Most recently, he has served as the Dean and President of the Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. His most recent book is Grace in Practice: A Theology of Everyday Life (2007). Earlier books include The Christianity Primer (2005), The First Christian: Universal Truth in the Teachings of Jesus (2003), Five Women of the English Reformation (2001), A Short Systematic Theology (2000), and The Protestant Face of Anglicanism (1997).
