PURPOSE

The Diocese of Springfield’s youth ministry exists to be stewards* of Christ’s love** in serving the needs of youth.

* characteristics of “steward”: servant (not master); seasoned reliability (experienced, knowledgeable, wise, trustworthy); in the absence of the Master (responsible for what we do not own – non-possessive care) (gleamed from The Emerging Laity and The Promise of Partnership by James E. and Evelyn Easton Whitehead)
** the blessings (gifts, talents, resources, people) found within the community of faith
